Chloe Victoria Jones Boxing Day 2007

Today we went to a beach called long bay.Last time we went to long bay but lots of people came and did secret santa stuff but this time for christmas the Jones's went with a family called the Fenners the mum is called Ann the dad is called Dean and the two sisters are called Polly and the oldest is called lLucy. We had a really good time at the beach we had a swim which was nice and warm but the tide was going out so we had to get out .Then the dads and my brother Matthew took us on this thing called the blow cart. I got on with my dad and he kept steering at the water and it felt like we were going to go in the water but we did'nt.It was really horrible because the wind took dean really fast and Dean tipped over and the sail got all mudy in the water. After that we went to the icecream shop and all of us got goody goody gumdrops except the mums because they said that it was sickly and tasted like bubble gum. When we had eaten our icecream then we went on the park which was really and I mean really fun because there was this huge flying fox which was fun because at the end it lifts you up really really and I mean really high. Then after abuot 10 mins it started to rain which was cool coz I like the rain alot so then we all went home.THE END.

More Expats Arrive October 2007

Well our friends arrived in October as has been a busy few months sorting out our house with summer months arriving and garden to get sorted and all those wonderful ideas you try to get around to before the run up to summertime.

Chloe and Sophie now have their friends from UK now to look forward too full time as they arrived in October and were indoctrinated into the RNZAF just like me, the first year will no doubt be like ours plenty of ups and downs and will be a settleing in period.

The girls settled in well and adopted their Kiwi School at Hobsonville Primary with great excitement, Dean has seopttled into the Kiwi Airforce and no doubt has seen many differences to the RAF. We have also done lots of family activity since they arrived, the annual Village Green on Base Auckland was a must do !! With 5 top bands playing that night Lucid 3 , Opshop, Electric Confessionairs, two more which I cannot remember for the life of me. Now we enter the Christmas rush if you can call it that to get the last minute bits and bobs for the family and then can look forward to a well earned rest and enjoy the summer weeks ahead. Most mornings now are in the hight 20's and cannot complain to be honest as I remember those UK cold winter mornings this time in December, so its a welcomed time to enjoy the different change in climate. Jan 08 will see us set off down south to visit at long last some sights that most people get to see when they travel this far south on holiday, so for the rest of us that call this place home it is nice to get away and see those sights at our own pace.
